In their own words

“Watermark exists to call all people to be fully devoted followers of Christ,” says senior pastor Todd Wagner.

About the culture

The staff gathers weekly to celebrate specific ways the church's mission is being accomplished, for training and to encourage and pray. Annual staff retreats, monthly lunches and planned days of play round out our effort to serve our team. Watermark pays for medical and dental insurance premiums, contributes to the employee’s HSA account and offers an immediate, fully vested 403(b) plus matching plan. Watermark also offers wellness benefits, life insurance coverage at 3 times the employee’s annual salary, paid holiday and vacation time as well as the gift of an extra week off between Christmas and New Years.

Employees say

"Compared to my 25 years in corporate leadership, this is the best leadership team I've been a part of in any organization. The fact it's a church is even better because we take time during the work day to care for each other. It strengthens us to serve others to the best of our ability."

"Every day presents a new opportunity to learn and grow, both personally and professionally. My manager has consistently given me the freedom to fail in small ways and is quick to encourage me when I succeed. I get a front row seat to see people's lives change for the better and I get to give all of the credit to God. I would not want to work anywhere else."

"I am constantly reminded of the vision and the 'why' behind what I do. Stories of life change are constantly shared. I love that staff is quick to remind one another that every role is equally important! I love that staff feels like such a family where people truly care for, bear burdens and encourage one another so well."

Good works

Watermark partners with African Leadership & Reconciliation Ministry (ALARM) and Mission of Hope Haiti to provide orphan care, clean water, vocational and biblical training, and more to our neighbors overseas. Each year, hundreds of spiritual, governmental, and business leaders in Burundi and Uganda are trained by Watermark members on leadership, trauma healing, and conflict resolution. Lawyers from the Watermark Justice group have facilitated conferences on justice for lawyers, judges, and government officials in Eastern Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, and South Sudan. Watermark and its members provide support through ALARM for mentoring, clothing, food, and school fees for 740 orphans and also provide funds for a training school for ex-child soldiers and orphans in northern Uganda. Our ministry for sexually abused women, Shelter from the Storm, reaches out locally and internationally to women who are survivors of sexual abuse. Watermark also continues to operate as a debt-free organization.
