About the culture
Children of teachers can attend the campuses where their parents work. After-school and employee child care are available. All three of its high schools are ranked in the country’s top 5 percent by U.S. News & World Report.
Employees say
"As a teacher, I am respected. I have worked in districts where I had to prove that I did my job because the expectation was that many teachers did not. At McKinney, the expectation is that everyone does their part and what is best for students. This is a huge reason that I love my job."
"Everyone works together for the same goal of student achievement. We support one another and lend assistance where needed."
Fun facts
Each year, the Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney Foundation gives all MISD fifth-grade students a one-gallon crape myrtle to take home and plant.
